No obvious distress is a poetry book written by Amanda Quaid that follows her experiences of her battle with a rare and aggressive form of back cancer. The poems explore the beauty of everyday life while still focusing on the frustration of the unknown and the disease.

The proposed book cover focuses on what cancer is in its simplest form: a dangerous mutation that affects the function of cells. Subtly, the book cover depicts the way cancer attacks the body in a way that links back to the name of the book and provides context to potential buyers on what this source of distress could be.
